the existence of god can't be proved, neither is there evidence of god's inexistence.
so, i'm neither theist neither atheist.

Jonathan - I have contempt faith but I also think it is a mistake to view all religious belief as equally dangerous. As Sam Harris has pointed out nobody goes to bed worrying about Jainist suicide bombers.
There are millions of christians who don't cause me any concern. I wish their children would grow up to be less superstitious than their parents but they are not a serious problem.
I will fairly concede that I'm likely still projecting my anger on religion as a whole. because honestly I am.

I disagree that they aren't all dangerous.

The KKK was partly Christian in origin and had some goals regarding Christianity:

Also on the above link are other examples of Christian extremism.
Have you read about these wars?

You give me enough time and I'll find a huge list of proof that ANY theism is dangerous. If a person does cocain, gets drunk, or par takes in some other chemical dependency; what are the chances that the dependancy might make them harm innocents? The chances exist, but if they do it's likely to be one target in particular for a personal reason.
Now imagine that chemical dependancy is in the form of a delusional egotist who could at any time just get the whim that all of one particular group or all of one certain people should die because it's what God wants. All the millions, all the billions, all the hundreds of thousands who are dependent as as a drug addict to this persons whims will do exactly as they are told in the name of God.
History attests to this Uni. ISIS attests to it right now. These people who blindly follow a book, or a man could randomly just decide God wants them to do something insane. It's far more likely than that drunk ever doing anything to anyone else.

Also why should cofty have to search for the link? It's not coftys job to defend other people's claims or posts etc. Asking for the source isn't insulting, so why be defensive?
lets all chill. 😁

Cofty and JonathanDrake: extreme scenario - a hopeless alcoholic with a huge self-destruct button starts to have some kind of personal faith in God, and his over-endulgence in alcohol starts to decrease. Would you tell him to his face there is no god?
Yes I would. I don't see a difference in dependence on alcohol and dependence on an imaginary genie. Both are being used to escape the real underlying issue, whatever it may be.
At least as an alcoholic he's only a danger to himself. As a misguided theist he's a danger to society. He's a danger to me. All it takes is that charismatic leader to tell him God wants him to blow up my kids elementary school. So you tell me, which would you prefer?

religions do have a good moral framework to offer teenagers/vulnerable peopleI strongly disagree.
I too disagree with this.
They appear ON THE SURFACE to do this. But in truth they do not. And there are countless examples. Look at how JWs affect children and people for instance? Robbed of potential.
Look at the Catholic Church. They encourage NFP and strongly discourage contraceptive. This encourages unwanted pregnancy and children having to grow up in severe poverty or other bad circumstances.
I challenge you to name any religion that doesn't in some manner or fashion severely injure, hinder, or otherwise negatively impact masses of individuals in the name of God and under the pretense of morality.

why didn't jesus ever write anything?
why are there no letters to jesus?
no painting of jesus from that time?
I don't think Jesus of the bible ever lived.
I think Jesus was a very popular name, so there were many many Jeezai But no Biblical Jesus.
how do you convince a jw that every decision that comes from the governing body is not from god?.
my mom who is a pioneer said that the students are getting their work book a month early, then proceeded to say " jehovah knows what we need".. for you who now know ttat what did it take for you?.
there seem to be many prerequisites for life as we know it.. to name a few: order, function, compatibility, availability, sustainability, intelligence, consciousness, intuition and so on.. focusing on only one, namely order.. what are the chances of order arising spontaneously, by chance, with no creator/designer?.
i have often pondered this and recently came across a mathematical summary of the big picture:.
if every particle in the known physical universe (10^80 particles), participated in one trillion interactions (10^12 interactions) per second, for the entire 30 billion years of the universe's existence (10^18 seconds), then we would by now have covered only 10^110 permutations.. if you had only 100 components in a container, what are the chances that a blindfolded person could lay them out in order on a table?.
